Sun, Surf, Desert Sand & Stars
There is so much to see in our time in Los Angeles and our tour will take us to some of the most famous sights. We will visit Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica and Venice Beach, Hollywood Boulevard and Melrose Avenue (the best place in Los Angeles for fun fashions).
LA is home to America's movie industry and we will get an inside peek during our visit to Universal Studios back lot tour.
We will venture into Las Vegas for an exciting tour of America's favorite playground. Downtown Las Vegas with the Freemont Street Experience is always a student favorite.
We will grab our cameras for the day trip to the GRand canyon. You will be able to walk the rim s around the Canyon's West Rim to photograph the Colorado River, which rages through the Canyon's floor.
We will drive and walk the "Strip" and explore many of the thrilling sites and attractions Vegas has to offer, from its glamorous casinos to its huge shopping facilities and roof top roller coasters.
Our days in Vegas will end with dinner and a Vegas Show.
We can assist with airfare - there is no charge for assistance.
The tour does not include airline tickets. You may purchase airline tickets yourself, or we can assist. It is the student's responsibility to either purchase a ticket or ask us for assistance. You may not purchase an airline ticket until YFU has granted permission for you to travel and you have reserved your space. Airline tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase and are non-refundable. We do not automatically purchase flights for a student.
We begin in Los Angeles (LAX)on Feb. 13. Arrive from 11 AM to 5 PM. Chaperones and Explore America staff will be at the airports for flights scheduled to land between 11 AM and 5 PM. Those arriving earlier will have to wait- we prefer that you arrive within the time window though. You may not arrive later than 5 PM.
Flights home are on Feb 19 from Las Vegas (LAS). Departures from 8 AM to 2 PM. If you depart earlier we will get you to the airport, but will not be able to assist you with check in. Note that because you go to the airport 2 hours before departure earlier departures may miss breakfast. If you depart later than 2 PM you risk getting stuck in Las Vegas on your own; There will not be any chaperones left to assist you.
It is generally cheaper to buy 1 "multi city" round trip ticket than 2 one way tickets. Kayak, Orbitz, expedia, travelocity, your local travel agency or we can can all arrange tickets to do this. Airfare is generally cheaper when purchased ahead of time. Airline tickets are non-refundable, and should only be purchased after all permissions for travel have been obtained.
Sample Airfare Prices- subject to change from 8/19/09
