Heartland District Chaperone Opportunities

If you are currently volunteering as a YFU Area Representative or are a YFU Host Parent and would be interested in chaperoning one of our YFU trips, please send an email to Lars Vinz, YFU District Director Heartland District to vinz"at"yfu.org , please add an @ for the "at".

REQUIREMENTS:

Chaperones can either be a host parent or volunteer. Host parents must complete volunteer training.
2 years minimum YFU experience & be in good standing with YFU.
Chaperones must work well as part of a team.
A positive attitude at all times – previous chaperoning experience is a sure plus!
Chaperones must be able to commit to travel and enjoy being with students.
Sufficient energy and stamina to keep up with a group of teenagers on tour. The tours are designed for teens with boundless energy, you must be able to keep up and do lots of walking, sometimes hiking and swimming (Hawaii).
Chaperones must purchase their own airline tickets well in advance. They will receive $300 towards their airfare when they complete the trip in form of a reimbursement before heading back home
Chaperones must have a cell phone with nationwide coverage - there is no reimbursement for roaming expense.
